CALL-OUT: Queer (Lesbian / Non-Binary) Dancer/Actor for R&D – What Adult Am I?

I’m looking for a queer-identifying dance theatre performer to join the creative team for the next phase of Research and Development for What Adult Am I?

The work explores adulthood through a queer and comedic lens, with a focus on lesbian and non-binary narratives. The work champions queer stories and challenges traditional norms, celebrating voices and experiences that are often muted or overlooked. The process combines movement and text, and is collaborative, exploratory, and process led.

As this is an evolving creative process, it’s important that the themes of the work and its connection to queer and lesbian experience resonate with you, and that you feel comfortable engaging with the material in a way that feels right for you.

Who we’re looking for:

Queer- Lesbian and or non-binary dance and theatre artist

A strong mover with a background in contemporary dance (other styles also welcome)

Experience in partnering and/contact improvisation

Confident working with text and scripts

Open to devising and collaborative processes

Particularly interested in hearing from queer artist of the global majority.  

Location & access:

Based in or connected to the North of England (North East strongly encouraged)

Access to accommodation in the North East is desirable, but not essential

Fee: £700 Per week

This is an opportunity to join the team and help shape the next phase of the work contributing both physically and creatively in a supportive R&D environment.
