What Adult Am I? is a live performance and research project. Led by Alicia Meehan in collaboration with performance artist Lucy Harries and writer Becky Glendening.

The work questions how we define our public-facing, adult identities. It examines and challenges the prejudices and constraints imposed on our minds, bodies, and personalities from childhood.

What Adult Am I? interrogates how we navigate heteronormative conditioning, adulthood, same-sex partnerships, and queer stereotypes through the lenses of pop culture, societal norms, and personal experiences.

This performance and research project uses episodic, semi-autobiographical, and confessional writing structures and blends this with movement, comedy, imagery, and naturalistic dialogue.

Performers, Alicia and Lucy are bent over a table, their faces in incredibly close proximity. Both mouths agape. They are onstage with florescent lighting behind them.
